MATCHING GIFTS AND EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEER GRANTS
Matching gifts are a great way to double or triple your gift! Contact your Human Resource office to receive a matching gift form. You may submit it with your gift or any time during the tax year in which your gift was given.
All matched gifts are tax deductible because we are registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the federal government and the state of Illinois. Employees, directors, employees’ spouses, and retirees usually qualify for the program.
Did you know that many Chicagoland employers provide volunteer grants for hours donated to Chicago Lights? Employee volunteer grants are part of workplace giving programs created to support volunteerism in communities where employees live and work. Through these “dollars for doers” efforts, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer on a regular basis. Program details differ with each company, but all have the power to increase your impact at Chicago Lights!
UNITED WAY DESIGNATIONS
You can designate Chicago Lights through your company’s United Way campaign, which usually takes place in the fall.
Money generated through United Way campaigns goes into the United Way Community Fund and is dispersed to a variety of local organizations. However, you can specify that your gift be sent directly to support the work of Chicago Lights. Please talk to your employer about Chicago Lights!
