VOLUNTEER: TUTORING

There are many ways to share your talents with Chicago Lights Tutoring, whether it’s through one-to-one tutoring and mentoring, teaching about a special interest, or assisting with meal time or arts and enrichment classes.

Volunteer orientation dates for 2017-2018 tutors will be announced later this summer.

ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING

Permanent Weekly Tutor
(6:00 to 7:30 p.m.)

In this volunteer position you pick the night (Monday through Thursday) that works best for you and commit to tutoring and mentoring the same student each week on the same evening. We will match you with a student as close to your gender and grade level preferences as possible.

Substitute Tutor
(6:00 to 7:30 p.m.)

In this flexible volunteer position, you simply come to the program when you have a free evening (Monday through Thursday) and work with a student whose regular tutor was unable to attend. You can come as frequently as you wish–once a week, once a month, every two weeks, etc.
